What is the iqd Creative Identifier?
With the iqd Creative Identifier, you can monitor and report ad impressions on sites marketed by iqd. As soon as you see an advert that appears to be displayed incorrectly or contains inappropriate content, you can report it in just a few clicks and we will ensure that the issue is resolved.
How do I activate the Creative Identifier?

Desktop
ViewAdPlace Extension
The ‘Creative Identifier & View Ad Places’ extension is now available in the Chrome Web Store. Visit the extension’s page and click ‘Add to Chrome’ in the top-right corner to install it straight away. The extension is only available in Chrome and Microsoft Edge. You no longer need to manually upload files or enable developer mode.
URL-Parameter
To open the Creative Identifier on a website (in a desktop or mobile browser), simply add the following parameter to the URL: "iqdebug=iqdcrid"
(e.g.: www.spiegel.de/?iqdebug=iqdcrid)
* If a parameter in the URL is already preceded by a “?”, place an “&” before the parameter instead of '?'.
Konami-Code
To open the Creative Identifier on a desktop website, simply press the following keyboard shortcut:
Down, Down, Up, Up, Left, Right, Left, Right, i, q, Enter
Mobile
The Creative Identifier can currently be accessed on MEWs and wrapper apps. It cannot be accessed on native apps or AMP pages. The following steps must be taken to activate it:
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page
- Overscroll 8 times. So swiping down even though you can't scroll down any further
- An empty area appears in the form of an invisible button located below the page footer.
- Tap 5 times in the appeared field
Please note that the touch sensitivity of mobile devices can vary. Some devices may perceive the first contact with the footer of the page as the first ‘scroll’, while other devices may not perceive scrolling or tapping actions correctly due to their sensitivity characteristics. It may therefore be necessary to perform scrolling and tapping actions outside the default values specified in some devices
How do I report advertising via the Creative Identifier?
This process is the same for both desktop and mobile ad impressions. Under ‘Adtiles’ (in the navigation bar on the left or at the bottom), you can view all ad impressions for this page view as tiles. To assign an incorrect ad creative to the correct tile:
- Go to the promotional material on the page: Tap the up/down arrow icon on the relevant card (tooltip: ‘Scroll to Adtile’). The view will scroll to the corresponding Adtile on the website.
- Several promotional items in plain view: On your desktop, hover your mouse over the map to highlight the relevant Adtile. On your mobile device, swipe horizontally across the Adtile list to the map you want; the active map will be highlighted.
Afterwards:
Once you have found the correct Adtile, tap "Melden" on the map – this will take you to the "Melden"screen, where you can fill in the form and create a Jira ticket (see the following section).
TIP: Screenshots are particularly helpful in enabling us to understand and reproduce the error. You can attach one or more files (e.g. screenshots) directly to the report form. In the desktop view, you can also use the iqd screenshot extension in Chrome to take a screenshot directly from the Creative Identifier and add it to the ticket. The clearer the visible state of the ad display is documented, the quicker we can pinpoint the problem.
What happens after a report is made?
As soon as you submit your report via the Creative Identifier, a ticket will be automatically created in the iq digital Support Portal. This will contain the details you have provided (e.g. reason, description, contact information) as well as the technical data relating to the ad impression in question. Any files and screenshots you have attached will be included with the ticket.
You will receive a confirmation including the relevant ticket number and can open the ticket directly in your browser via the "Ticket ansehen" link. We will also send you a confirmation email. In Support Porta, you can view your ticket, track its status and follow the progress of your enquiry.
